When organizing your fridge it should be based on the temperature of foods.  By placing food items on the correct shelves food will be fresher longer. Here are some tips on how to correctly organize food items:

1. Top shelves

These shelves are not that coldest as the bottom of the fridge, so they are best suited for cooked foods, and leftover items, snacks,  and dips.  They also prevent food from being contaminated by meats or other products that might drip.

2. Fridge doors

Considered the warmest spots in your fridge are meant for low- spoilage foods such as condiments.

3. Middle shelves

These have constant temps and are ideal for items that need to be kept cold, but have a lower risk for spoilage such as eggs, cheese, and deli meats. Fruit that didn’t fit in the crisper can also be placed in middle shelves.

4. Lower Shelves

Milk should be kept at the lowest shelf towards the back of the fridge where it’s typically the coldest part of the fridge. Fruits and vegetables should not  be placed here because they can freeze.

5. Crispers

There are usually two drawers in your fridge, but they are not equally created. One of  them is used  to store fruits at low humidity, and the other is designed to store  vegetables at a higher humidity. Humidity is important when storing produce as some vegetables release ethylene gas which can cause spoilage and rotting in other produce if exposed for too long.
